Love it or hate it, there’s no denying the fact that 3D has quickly become all the rage. In fact, it seems that just about every single movie that hits theaters in this day and age either come out exclusively in 3D or in 3D alongside 2D. However, despite this fact, the hardware necessary to bring 3D entertainment into your own home is still priced quite high – that is, if you want to bring things to the big screen.

As you’re sure to know, Nintendo is preparing to release the glasses-free 3D display touting Nintendo 3DS. While this predominantly a video gam econsole the Nintendo 3DS can also play videos, quite obviously, in 3D. However, according to reports, Samsung isn’t looking to let Nintendo have all the fun in the portable 3D landscape as they are apparently working on their own 4-inch glasses-free 3D display.

Of course, this doesn’t really confirm much in terms of future product releases but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Samsung Galaxy 3D hit the streets at some point in the future.
