BMG Classics Releases Mozart's Requiem in SACD Surround Sound |

BMG Classics released its fourth Surround Sound Super Audio CD this week. Their latest U.S. SACD release features Mozart's Requiem as performed by Christine Schafer (Soprano), Bernarda Fink (Mezzo Soprano), Kurt Streit (Tenor), Gerald Finley (Bartone) and Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducting the Arnold Schoenberg Choir and Concentus Musicus Wein. The new Surround Sound SACD is on the DHM (Deutsche Harmonia Mundi) label which is distributed in the U.S. by BMG Classics.
Like the 3 earlier BMG Classics releases, the new Surround Sound SACD is a Single Inventory Super Audio CD release in the U.S. The SACD features SACD Surround Sound, SACD Stereo and CD Stereo versions of the music on the album. It will serve as both the Super Audio CD and Stereo CD edition of the album.
3 Earlier BMG Classics SACD Releases
This is actually the second time that BMG Classics has released a Surround Sound SACD featuring Nikolaus Harnoncourt. The earlier Surround Sound Super Audio CD by Harnoncourt was a recording of Bruckner's 9th Symphony performed by Nikolas Harnoncourt and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (RCA Red Seal 8287-654332-2).
The three earlier BMG Classics Surround Sound SACDs now available in the U.S. are:

Availability
The new Surround Sound Super Audio CD of Mozart's Requiem is now available at Tower Records and other music stores in the U.S. that carry classical music SACDs. It is also available in Europe and Japan from music stores and web sites in those markets.
