New Arts Music SACD boasts Crystal Clear 24-bit 96kHz Sound

Arts music has announced their latest SACD release, Bach Suites Nos. 1 – 4, performed by Diego Fasolis and I Barocchisti. The following information from Andrea Hentschke of Arts:

“Diego Fasolis and his ensemble “I Barocchisti” have been acclaimed from the press many times as one of the best ensemble for ancient music. Statements like “Simply a terrific recording” (American Record Guide for ARTS 47573-2 Bach – Motetes) and “These two recordings (ARTS 47694-2 Bach Psalm 51 and ARTS 47695-2 Bach Cantatas) confirm the places of Diego Fasolis and the ensemble I Barocchisti among those musicians who really count.” (Le Monde de la Musique) encouraged us to promptly release another recording from this ensemble.

“This time Diego Fasolis and his Ensemble present Bachs’ Suites Nos 1 – 4, that the composer himself called “overtures”. They were used as opening for several events such as celebrations, operas, orchestral concerts or cantatas. The Suites came to existence by a staccato rhythm, the succession of a quick, a slow and again a quick movement and a festive character. To them different dance tunes were added for concerts and dances and thus created suites. We are very happy to present this splendid recording as an original ARTS authentic release and with crystal clear 24 bit / 96kHz technique on Hybrid SACD.”

What a strange phrase – crystal clear 24-bit 96kHz on an SACD – so much for pure DSD recordings, perhaps the label will eventually release the title in its native format on DVD-Audio.
