NEC MD21GS-5MP monitor for Medical Professionals

nec-md21gs-5mp.jpgNEC Display Solutions of America, a foremost stand-alone provider of commercial and residential LCD, plasma, and projector displays, recently introduced the MultiSync MD21GS-5MP flat-panel monitor, particularly targeted at medical imaging applications, including mammography and PACS (picture archiving and communication system). The new LCD monitor comes with a 2560 x 2048 native resolution and the 5-MP display showcases in-plane switching (IPS) LCD module technology, providing dominant details of medical images and a possible 3,061 shades of gray through the monitor.

The MD21GS-5MP also exhibits a backlight sensor and DICOM calibration, as well as a 30-ms response time and a contrast ratio of 600:1. In addition, Gamma Comp MD software, offered with the MD monitor system, supports different sensors for calibration which include external colorimeters for straight measurement at the surface and spot luminance meters for distance measurement.

The MD21GS-5MP flat-panel monitor display comes with RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) acquiescent, including fully throwaway plastics and negligible amounts of perilous materials such as lead, hex-chrome, cadmium, mercury, PBDE and PBB. The display is awaiting FDA510K January approval and would be available for shipment with a predictable street price of $9,999.99, and is combined with one a three-year limited warranty with Advanced Overnight Exchange service.
