HP Unveils Mini 100e For Children

Wow, so now even children can have their very own netbooks too, courtesy of HP. The company recently released the Mini 100e, which has a 10.1 inch screen. It’s intended as an tool to help kids enhance the quality of their education in the classroom.

Furthermore, this little laptop features an Intel Atom N455 processor, 1GB of RAM, your preference of various hard drive sizes, Windows 7 Starter, XP, SuSE Linux operating system options and a colorful keyboard. It weighs 3.2 pounds and its price starts at just under $299. Interestingly enough, the Mini 100e will not be available for direct sale at any retailer, though. Apparently, HP is staying true to their intentions about children’s education by selling the little laptop in bulk orders to schools only at this point.

This exclusive availability for the HP netbook might be quite disappointing for parents who would have loved to buy it for their little ones at home. Just make sure home-schooled kids don’t find out about this. Otherwise, there’s likely to be a lot of crying to be endured by those within hearing distance of the upset children.
