Recently, Samsung unveiled a new line of portable USB 3.0 hard drives known as the S2 series. Available in 500GB, 640GB and 1TB models, these 2.5-inch drives sport a USB 3.0/2.0 interface, a 7200 RPM spindle speed and the Dynamic Balancing, SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies. In addition to this, the devices also come pre-loaded with Samsung Auto Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey for data encryption and password protection. Thus, the 500GB version is priced at 79 Euro ($109), the 640GB version retails for 89 Euro ($122) and the 1TB models are valued at 125 Euro ($172).
