Though this was released primarily for use by the House of Representatives, I wouldn’t be surprised if it would be offered in the market as well. For now, Mobile Studios Inc. has unveiled three portable HD video production systems and camera packages which will be used to record committee room hearings and deliver live feeds for broadcast. The key component for these PortaCast Mobile Studios would have to be the Director’s Console. It has a multi-format switcher, a robotic camera controller, character generator, audio mixer, DVR, and a telecast fiber interface. It is practically a video production machine on wheels!

Now would you want to have something like that under your wing? Well for now it doesn’t seem likely. But given some time and a few tweaks perhaps on the features it carries, don’t be surprised if Mobile Studios or any other company would come out with something similar.
