Some of you might remember when we covered the Criterion Collection being held by Netflix, but this is not to be anymore.

I guess we should not be surprised, since the Criterion collection has just arrived on Hulu Plus. Criterion had this to say about the breakup:

It has never been easy to find Criterion movies on Netflix – “Criterion” is not even a searchable term there. Compare that with Hulu’s willingness to develop a whole area of their site around us, brand the films associated with us, and develop the capability to show many of our supplements alongside our films.

This doesn’t meant that Criterion films are completely absent from Netflix, but they will “slowly dwindle down to nothing by the end of the year”.
