RCA RTD615i Home Theater System Review-Not Much, But Good Price

It’s often true, especially of home theater systems, that you get what you pay for. And in the case of the RCA RTD615i, you’ll get a whole lot here, maybe just a bit more than you pay for. But only just a bit.

The RCA RTD615i is a six hundred watt 5.1 channel surround sound system that offers up a center channel speaker, four satellite speakers, subwoofer, iPod dock, and an included DVD player. You’ll also get HDMI input for upconverting to 1080p, Dolby digital decoder, optical connections, and support for several media formats.

You should like the sound quality on this one–it’s not specifically bad, though a little on the underpowered side. There’s plenty of utility here, especially since they add on a DVD. This likely isn’t going to blow anyone away, but in smaller rooms, it should have the kind of power you’ll need.

Considering that the folks out at Amazon want a hundred and sixty five dollars for this system–marked down from two hundred thirty, no less–you should be appropriately surprised. It’s no ball of fire, of course, but it also does pack utility. I’d call this pretty good for basements or playrooms.

You won’t win any home theater awards with the RCA RTD615i, but it should do the job at least passably well.
