Toshiba Unveils Two New Laptops Featuring 3D Playback And NVIDIA Optimus Technology

Recently, Toshiba announced the release of two new laptops called the Satellite M645 and the Satellite A665. First, let’s discuss the Satellite A665. This is a 15.6 inch laptop with 3D capability. It features an Intel Core i7-740QM CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 350M graphics with 1GB of VRAM, a 640GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, and a Blu-ray drive for 3D playback. The 665 also comes with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision kit, which means you’ll be getting a set of active shutter glasses and an emitter. This device is priced at $1,599 but there’s also a 16 inch model without 3D playback for $799 if you’re looking to save money.

Now, we’ll talk about the Satellite M645. It’s smaller than the A665 as a 14 inch laptop and it has Core i3, i5 and i7 CPU options, AMD Phenom II Quad Core processors and NVIDIA Optimus technology. The Optimus tech allows you to switch instantly between using the GeForce 310M or GeForce GT330M GPU and the IGP. In addition to this, systems are configured with Blu-ray and 7,200rpm hard drives as well.

Furthermore, both Satellite laptops were made with chiclet keyboards and a new Fusion X2 finish that consists of a glossy and matte coating. These devices also have Toshiba’s new Sleep + Music capability, enabling you to connect a music player into the mic jack and hear your favorite songs emitting from the Harmon Kardon speakers even when you’ve turned off the laptop.
