Silverline and crank! to Release DVD-Audio Titles

Silverline Records has entered into a licensing deal with crank! to release DVD-Audio titles, it was announced today by John Trickett, Chairman of the 5.1 Entertainment Group and Jeff Matlow, President of crank!

Under the terms of the agreement, Silverline Records has obtained exclusive license rights for all six-channel formats for a number of albums from the crank! catalogue. On March 26, Silverline Records is set to release, Mineral’s ‘The Power of Failing’ and ‘EndSerenading’, The Gloria Record’s ‘A Lull in Traffic’, ‘Uomini D’Onore’ by Fireside and The Icarus Line’s ‘Mono’ due out on May 7th 2002. Silverline is committed to releasing several DVD-Audio titles per month.

Throughout 2002, Silverline will release DVD-Audio discs by artists such as Bob Marley, Styx, The Kinks, Joey Ramone, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Widespread Panic, Sex Pistols and Megadeth to name a few.

Silverline was the first label to produce and release a DVD-Audio title, the Grammy-nominated ‘Swinging For The Fences’ by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band. Silverline Records has maintained a leadership role in the development, production and marketing of DVD-Audio with 53 DVD-Audio titles released to date and 140 more to be released this year.
