Samsung PN50C6500 Television Review-Samsung Gets Another One Right

Samsung and I have had a lot going on over the years, and I generally approve of their products, some more so than others. The Samsung PN50C6500 will not break the chain, and do so at a halfway decent value to boot.

The Samsung PN50C6500 is a fifty inch 1080p plasma television that offers ConnectShare Movie so you can play things straight off a USB drive, the Samsung Touch of Color design, BD Wise to automatically adjust component settings, antiglare systems, Cinema Smooth systems to make action flow more smoothly, two ten watt speakers with SRS TruSurround, four HDMI ports, two USB ports, one PC input, two component inputs, one digital audio input and one PC audio input.

It’s a pretty sweet system, overall. Yes, those are just ten watt speakers but with the SRS TruSurround backing them up they sound a whole lot nicer. And the picture is definitely nice as well–it’s a big display with lots of room. I’m not necessarily happy about how the older components get shorter shrift on this one, but when you’re talking about a setup like this you probably should be looking at newer components on it anyway.

The folks out at Amazon want eleven hundred forty nine dollars on this one, no small price, but again, considering what you get that’s really not so bad.

The Samsung PN50C6500 is a pretty potent setup, and though it’ll cost quite a bit to lay hands on one, you could still do quite a bit worse elsewhere. If you’re looking to step your home theater game up a notch, well, this is a great direction to start in.
