Philips has a Fidelio SoundSphere docking station

March 9, in Speakers

This must be the day of speaker systems as we’ve previously reported on the Z906 from Logitech and the Infinity TSS-800CHR 6-Piece Home Theater Speakers on sale at Amazon. Yesterday, we reported on some speaker/dock from JBL, and now this one from Philips.

The Fidelio SoundSphere is a speaker dock that you can listen to without docking the iPhone thanks to the wonders of AirPlay. All you have to do is keep your iOS device within the range, and it will make use of the AirPlay feature that Steve Jobs loves so much.

The speakers are designed in a round and spherical way so that sound gets projected in all directions, so you should be able to get all the music in many directions. Hopefully that means that “sweet spot” will be everywhere.

For those who are willing to get the Philips Fidelio SoundSphere, it is pretty costly. The running price is about $1,110 and should be available sometime in the month of May.
