First 65nm System-on-Chip (SoC) Starts Mass Production

At least for China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting, NewPort Media will be mass producing the first 65nm System-on-Chip (SoC) which integrates a RF tuner, demodulator, memory as well as Mobile Broadcast Business Management System (MBBMS) conditional access functions. This new chip aims to address the growing popularity of the digital TV market in China.

Mass production has started for this device which is manufactured using using low-cost, 65nm CMOS process technology and is packaged in a low-cost and easy-to-manufacture 48 I/O Quad Flat No Led (QFN) 6mm package.
