Yamaha YHT-S400BL Home Theater System Review-Small Space, Big Sound

We’ve got a strange little item to close out the week with, and you’ll be rather impressed by this one. We’ve seen a lot of Yamaha sound hardware before, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a Yamaha sound bar. And that’s just what we’ll get with the Yamaha YHT-S400BL.

The Yamaha YHT-S400BL is a hundred and fifty watt soundbar that offers Yamaha’s Air Surround Xtreme functionality (basically, it functions like a high-end virtual surround system, allowing you to determine the location of sound ahead of you or behind you, even working with seven channel sources), HD Audio capability, UniVolume systems to maintain a constant volume regardless of what’s on screen at the time, an analog port, three HDMI ports, and a receiver with built in subwoofer.

If space is an issue then this is one you’ll want to hear for yourself. It’s got really nice audio, especially for such a small overall package. Having a receiver with a subwoofer built in is also no small feat, and a very welcome achievement besides. There’s a lot of reason to like this, but the best one is yet to come.

The folks out at Amazon are looking to get $380.35 for one of these, and that’s not half bad given that this is just a simple soundbar system, but it’s backed up with plenty of extra components, and of course, that sweet Yamaha engineering.

For people with smaller home theater spaces that don’t want to sacrifice a whole lot in quality, then the Yamaha YHT-S400BL might well have been specifically made for you. You’ll definitely want to hear this one work for yourself.
