Western Digital Unveils The WD TV Live Hub Media Player With 1TB HDD

Today, Western Digital unveiled their latest media player called the WD TV Live Hub. Interestingly enough, they decided to pack this streaming device with 1TB HDD of storage capacity. According to Engadget, the company definitely out-fitted this one with the finest set of specifications ever. It also features an Ethernet socket for getting content from the web or your local network and a couple of USB ports for storage expansion or transfers. Of course, the media player will access Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Blockbuster on Demand and UPnP / DLNA streaming to your preferred game console as well.

However, you can only get Wi-Fi through an optional adapter. That’s pretty surprising and probably frustrating for some consumers since you’d normally expect Wi-Fi to be built-in for a media streamer. Aside from that troubling flaw, the WD TV Live Hub seems to be a solid product overall. You can buy it directly from Western Digital for $199.99 in the U.S. or find it at Best Buy and it’s also available in most places internationally.
