The Universal Music Group updated their Super Audio CD Release List earlier today with the addition of 4 new Classical Music albums that are due out in the U.S. market in April. Also new this week was an update on the release plans of the yet untitled next album by singer Beck. Here’s more information on these developments from Universal Music.
4 New Classical Music SACDs
As noted above, we have 4 new Super Audio CDs on the Universal Music Release List this week. They include SACD titles by pianists Lang Lang and Yundi Li as well as two performances by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. It should be noted that Gergiev, the noted Russian conductor, is also featured on the upcoming Lang Lang SACD as well. All four SACDs are currently slated to be in stores in the U.S. on April 12th.
New Release Dates for Next Beck Album
Also new this week is the news that the next album by Beck has been delayed a few weeks. The new album, which remains untitled, has been moved back from March 1st to March 22nd on Stereo CD and from March 8th to March 29th on SACD Surround Sound and Dual Disc formats.
Universal Music’s SACD Release List for 2005
Still slated for in store release next week are the two Surround Sound Soundtrack SACDs by the late composer Jerry Goldsmith on Varese Sarabande. Here is the latest edition of the Universal Music SACD Release List with the changes mentioned above included:
