Toshiba Launching REGZA 3DTVs That Require No Glasses in Japan This December

3D displays are becoming quit the rage thanks to the experience they provide. However, just like with every new emerging technology, there are some consumers who have their gripes. Of course, these gripes aren’t without reason as 3DTVs tend to cost quite the premium. Add to that the fact that most all of them require you to wear special 3D glasses with some pairs costing well over $100.

Luckily, Toshiba is coming forth to remedy one of those problems with their REGZA 3DTVs. These 3DTVs feature auto stereoscopic displays which means you will not need 3D glasses to get the 3D effect. If you’ve heard of the Nintendo 3DS, this is the same type of thing.

Toshiba will ship these in both 21-inch and 12-inch models with their names being 20GL1 and 12GL1, respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing but considering these are such new technology, don’t expect them to go for very cheap at all. However, we do know that they will be hitting Japanese markets this December.
