Toshiba Creates The First 3D Blu-ray Laptop

Lovers of Blu-ray, today is a good day for you. Toshiba recently made the very first laptop with 3D Blu-ray compatibility ever. In Europe, it’s called the Satellite A665. But here in the United States, it’s known as the Dynabook TX/98MBL.

It has a 15.6-inch TruBrite LED-backlit panel for its display, which carries a 1366 x 768 resolution. Furthermore, the display runs on an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTS 350M graphics card. In addition to this, at least 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 500GB HDD are also offered as options. The Blu-ray disc drive is equipped with burning capability and also supports Bluetooth 2.1. Other features include 802.11b g/n Wi-Fi, three USB ports, one eSATA/USB port, HDMI, ethernet ports and a multi-card reader slot. A 1.3MP webcam and Harman Kardon stereo speakers also come with this laptop, which has Windows 7 as well.

However, 3D Blu-ray discs aren’t immediately required for enjoying the Dynabook TX/98MBL right away. Toshiba was considerate enough to pre-install some 3D content beforehand. This laptop does use NVIDIA 3D Vision technology but it isn’t currently known whether or not shutter glasses will be provided along with it at this time.
