I believe that a lot of cable companies have realized that people want to control their viewing experience on their mobile devices, and now FiOS TV is on board.

Verizon is offering a free FiOS Mobile App for the Apple iPad. This allows customers to remotely control their DVRs, use the iPad as a TV remote control, and “more features soon to come”.

Verizon started offering customers the ability to use their mobile device as a remote control earlier this year. The feature is available on more than 40 mobile devices running Android software v.2.1 or above or that support Wi-Fi. It is also available on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

One again, another intersection of the cable company and the mobile phone company. Why don’t they just accept their fate and get married?
