The Met getting a glasses-free 3D effects screen

I’m sure that all of us wouldn’t mind having a glasses-free 3D screen as their home theater TV, so it is naturally coming to the Met.

Metropolitan Opera’s upcoming production of Siegfried, an opera by Richard Wagner, is planning on having a huge glasses-free 3D screen for this production.

This will not be easy, as it is a 45-ton set, but it will apparently engulf the spectators.

Now the big question: did anyone ask for this? I’m not an opera-buff, but I am guessing that the answer is no.
