During the month of June, Samsung stealthily brought out its HD103UJ SpinPoint F1 Series HDD with 1TB Capacity. The price and availability wasn’t announced. Just two days back, the company made an announcement that its latest SpinPoint F1 Series Hard Disk Drive is shipping at $399 MSRP.

The HDD consumes less power as it comes with a rotational vibration (RV) sensor for vibration tolerance, and an optimized system-on-chip (SOC) controller. This one TB HDD has the world’s highest recording density utilizing only three disks. The new Serial ATA 3.5” F1 Series can be used in enterprise environments, with personal video recorders and desktop PCs.

“Samsung’s new F1 Series is our ‘racing green’, environmentally friendly drive,” said Andy Higginbotham, director of hard drive sales and marketing, Samsung Semiconductor. “Samsung’s engineering prowess and advanced technology know-how has brought to the market a universal storage solution to meet the demands of both computing and consumer electronics today and tomorrow.”

Samsung’s F1 Series drive features:
• 334GB per-platter capacity
• 7200RPM spindle speed
• 32MB cache
• MTBF of up to 1.2 million hours
• SATA 3Gb/s interface
