Sony Plans To Launch Controller-Based 3D Slider For The PS3 And Upcoming Games

Recently, Sony announced that the upcoming release of stereoscopic 3D titles on the PS3 will be coupled with a 3D slider that enables you to adjust depth perception of the 3D effect while playing a game. This will serve to help gamers get comfortable with a 3D game during an initial play-through. Furthermore, 3D depth adjustment will be operated with the left analog stick, although the final mapping process is still in development. It is likely that game developers may prefer to do mapping with a control stick instead, meaning that a regular tilt would cause a change in 3D depth perception. Thus, we see that the gaming industry is quite actively adopting the concept of 3D functionality in order to attract customers in today’s society.
