Sonopress and DualDisc at MIDEM 2006

At MIDEM 2006, Sonopress presented its entire range of DualDisc services. The Gьtersloh-based media service provider acquired a license for the replication of DualDiscs from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the middle of last year.

DualDisc has both a CD and a DVD side, opening up exciting new possibilities for artists and music companies to offer consumers audio, video and software contents on a single two-sided disc,” commented Sven Deutschmann, Sonopress CEO Western Europe.

Sonopress is convinced that this format will be a success. “We are currently producing Michael Jackson’s 20 most popular singles, including video clips, as DualDiscs,” said Deutschmann. A new DualDisc will be released each week, starting with ‘Thriller’. Other songs will include ‘Billy Jean’, ‘Bad’ and ‘Dirty Diana’.

The following text from Laurence Harris:

The Sonopress team promoted DualDisc in two separate locations at Midem: the company’s own stand on Level 01 (No. 13.17) and as a co-exhibitor on the RIAA stand (No. 7.14) in the same area of the trade show.

In addition to DualDisc, Sonopress presented a full range of production services for CD and DVD audios, music DVDs, SACDs, vinyl and MCs. For instance, music companies that want to reach their customers around the world directly with state-of-the-art technology, both now and in the future, will find the perfect solution in the latest content storage and distribution package from Sonopress. The Digital Archive and Encoding Service from Sonopress makes it possible to market digital music contents in more than just the conventional mode of high-quality, offline media replication.
