Silverline and N-Coded Sign Jane Monheit DVD-Audio Deal

Two new DVD-Audio titles from Jane Monheit will be the products of a long-term licensing deal between Silverline Records and N-Coded Music, announced today.

Silverline will take on the role of worldwide distribution for DVD-Audio versions of jazz singer Monheit’s music, it was announced by Jeff Dean, President of Silverline Records, and Adam Levy, President and CEO of Warlock Records and N-Coded Music.

Under the terms of the agreement, Silverline Records has obtained exclusive license rights for all six-channel formats for the albums ‘Never Never Land’ and ‘Come Dream with Me’, which will be released early 2004.

New York vocalist Jane Monheit began her career at the age of 20 when she became the first runner-up in the 1998 Theolonius Monk Institute vocal competition, winning a $10,000 scholarship to further her musical education. Two years later, Monheit released her spectacular debut ‘Never Never Land’ to overwhelming acclaim. The album demonstrated her structured choice of ten popular standards revealing Monheit’s classic vocal talent. Accompanying her on ‘Never Never Land’ is an all-star cast of musicians including pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Lewis Nash.

Come Dream with Me’ followed, consisting of renditions of several standards as well as a few lesser known jazz compositions. Monheit has enchanted audiences worldwide with her sweet and dreamy soprano voice.

Silverline is in the process of producing both DVD-Audio discs. They will include 5.1 surround sound mixed from the original studio masters, photos, as well as a high-resolution stereo mix and liner notes.
