Samsung PN58B550T2 Television Review-Amazing Plasma

It’s always a strange set of circumstances when I tackle a Samsung–I’m never sure what to think going in.  So when I took a look at the Samsung PN58B550T2, I was once again terribly surprised by all the strange things they did here.

The Samsung PN58B550T2 is a fifty eight inch 1080p LCD television that offers E-Panel with FilterBright to cut down on glare (and we all know that glare is the enemy of every home theater) Wide Color Enhancer2 technology, two fifteen watt speakers, PC input, four HDMI inputs, USB port, two component video inputs, one composite input, one optical digital audio input, AnyNet+, game mode to reduce blurring and a favorite channel list for easy access to your favorite channels.

There’s immediately a lot to like here–there are plenty of ports for your extra components, with consideration for the older equipment as well.  The speaker power is a little bit of an issue (but only just a bit because those fifteen-watters have SRS TruSurround to back them up, and that TruSurround does a LOT of good to augment what comes out of speakers), but the picture is downright amazing.  Fifty eight inches is among the top sizes of television without going to a projector outright, and one thing that makes this even more unsettling is the price.

This sucker weighs in at fifteen hundred bucks right now at Best Buy.  Sure, that’s a sale price on their web site–the retail price is a much more realistic twenty three hundred bucks.  But that’s a terrific price all the same.

The Samsung PN58B550T2 is a surprisingly nice system, and for the price you can’t do much better, so if you’re in the market for a new television, definitely put this one on your list to check out.
