When you’re going shopping for a new television there are probably a few things you keep in mind. Considering there has been a lot of hype recently regarding 3D display technology perhaps you would first think about whether or not you’re going to want a television capable of displaying this content. Next, you might consider which display resolution you want your television to come in. Can you settle for 720p, or would you rather bump the resolution up to 1080p?

Well, Samsung thinks you can go even higher than 1080p and with 3D to boot. Today, the massive television manufacturer has come forth to show us what they are calling an Ultra Definition television. This 70-inch behemoth features a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 which effectively puts the 1920 x 1080 (1080p) resolution found in most of today’s high end televisions to shame.

Of course, there’s absolutely no price tag or release date currently available for this monster but considering Samsung’s calling it a world’s first, it definitely won’t come cheap.
