It seems that while the Samsung BD-UP5000 showed much promise, a new firmware update is in order. This became a necessity when the Samsung BD-UP5000 got some complaints for its inability to play a new Avatar Blu-ray.

Samsung is aware of the problem and they are supposedly coming up with a firmware to resolve the problem. The only thing is that they are not saying when it would be available and basing it on their history, Samsung will not apply a sense of urgency for the said firmware update.
