We have reported on a lot of headphones from Pioneer before like the SE-MJ71-S Steel Wheels, the SE-MJ151, and the SE-NC31C-K Noise Cancelling Earbuds. The company has just unveiled the Pioneer HDJ-500T-K with “a 40 mm diameter driver, thick 19 µm (micrometers) diaphragm and a copper clad aluminum wire (CCAW) voice coil”.
The HDJ-500T-K are DJ headphones, but they can be used for “leisure music listening” and it can also be used for hands-free calling. These headphones have two interchangeable cords, one for DJing and one with an integrated microphone for the aforementioned hands-free calling.
Another feature which is good “during performances” (presumably with DJing) is the rotating arm structure which allows the user to rotate the right earpiece forward and back by 60 degrees. The flexible headband has enough side pressure to allow the DJ to listen to audio on just one of the headphones.
The Pioneer HDJ-500T-K headphones should be available sometime in May at a suggested retail price of $145.00.
