Philips announces two new SACD players at CES 2002

Today at CES 2002, Philips announced its first DVD-V and SACD player, combining Philips’ proprietary Crystal Clear Pro Progressive™ Scan technology with a sophisticated Motion Adaptive System, featuring the DCDi® chip by Faroudja, and multichannel SACD playback (with bass management). It also incorporates DTS and Dolby Digital surround-sound processing, and is compatible with CD-R and CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, SVCD and VCD. The DVD962SA will be available in February 2002 and will have a suggested retail price of $599.

Philips also announced the baby brother DVD900SA with a similar feature set to the DVD962SA, but without the DCDi® processing. It will also be available in February 2002 with a suggested retaile price of $299!
