Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT25 Television Review-Magnolia Still Means Greatness

Admittedly, plasma televisions have been getting sort of the short stick of late–technologically, they’re getting shouldered aside by the 3D and LED (often both at once) televisions and bumped around price-wise by the LCD. But there are still models out there, and many of them are worth considering for your home theater. Today we’re taking a look at one such model, the Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT25.

The Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT25 is a sixty five inch, 1080p Magnolia system (which already should get your eyebrows raised) that offers internet connectivity for access to a wide variety of original content, 3D capability (you’ll need to pick up a 3D-ready Blu-ray player and glasses and such, though), both Deep Color and x.v.Color technologies, BBE ViVA HD3D surround sound from three ten-watt speakers, four HDMI inputs, one analog audio input, two composite video inputs, four audio inputs, one PC input, two component video inputs, an Ethernet port, a Secure Digital card slot (great for picture displays), an optical digital audio output and two USB ports.

I have yet to find a Magnolia item yet that is not large and spectacular, and the Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT25 doesn’t look like it’ll be starting any unpleasant trends. The picture seems appropriately grandiose for a television of this size, the sound sounds appropriately high-quality (three speakers at once is an interesting mix, especially coming from just a television by itself), and nothing about this is terribly hard to work with plus there will be all manner of extra benefits. Even the ports are nicely balanced, allowing for old and new components, though you’ll likely want newer components anyway to take advantage of the 3D capability.

The down side, of course, is about what you’d expect–the price tag on this thing is simply mammoth in scope, a whopping forty three hundred dollars. But considering the huge screen and great sound quality, that’s not exactly so out of line.

You may not be considering a plasma television in your home theater, but a look at the Panasonic Viera TC-P65VT25 will be rewarded with an incredible experience.
