Panasonic Viera TC-P50S30 Plasma Television

A big new addition to the plasma television universe has arrived only recently from the crew out at Panasonic, so strap in and brace yourself for the surprisingly pleasant Panasonic Viera TC-P50S30.

The Panasonic TC-P50S30 is a fifty inch 1080p plasma television that offers both Viera Tools to help you identify the various functions and Viera Image Viewer to show pictures and video directly off an SD card slot. You’ll also get a 600 Hz refresh rate for very smooth images, a game mode to reduce the lag in system to display time, both Deep Color and x.v.Color systems for quality image reproduction, Easy IPTV through Viera Tools, two ten watt speakers with surround sound capability, three HDMI ports, one component input, one composite input, two USB ports and a LAN port (it will also support wi-fi if you’ve got a wireless USB adapter).

It’s big, it’s bright, it’s impressive. It covers the current home theater waterfront in spades and provides for the future to boot. About the only real downside here is the lack of connections for your current gear, though you’ll want upper-end stuff anyway to get the full value out of it. The picture is profoundly nice and even the sound isn’t half bad for minimally-augmented ten watt speakers.

And the price tag isn’t even that bad considering what all you get here-the folks at Amazon want you to drop fully $782.27 for one of these, and considering you’re getting a fifty inch plasma with plenty of bells and whistles, that’s really very good. Sure, plasmas often use more power, but considering the low price of entry? Not half bad, I’d say.

So all in all, the Panasonic Viera TC-P50S30 is going to be a great addition to your home theater that you’ll definitely want to check out for yourself.
