Panasonic Ships Region 2 DVD-Audio Portable

Portable DVD-Audio comes to the region 2 market in the form of the Panasonic DVD-LA95, which boasts a 9inch 16:9 LCD screen (432 Ч 234 pixels), the largest of any region 2 machine to date.

Panasonic have long been on the cutting-edge of portable DVD technology and a region 1 DVD-Audio portable has been available for some time.

However, priced at Ј700 – Ј1,000 or thereabouts (depending on retailer), DVD-Audio on the go does not come cheap, but one can be assured that the DVD-LA95 also boasts impressive DVD-Video playback to impress fellow commuters, plus DVD-RAM compatibility designed to replay discs created on Panasonic’s own DVD-RAM recorder.

Other features (in no particular order) include CD-DA, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 (from CD-R) playback, a 27MHz, 10-bit Video D/A converter, 192kHz 24-bit audio D/A converter, integral Dolby Digital and DTS decoders, a digital S/P-DIF output, built-in stereo speakers plus NTSC playback.

The DVD-LA95 weighs in at 980g and the dimensions are 230mm wide Ч 28mm high Ч 170mm deep.
