Optoma Shows Off HD67N 3D Projector With 1280 x 720 HD Resolution, HDMI and More

Optoma is one of the world’s leading projector manufacturers which should come as no surprise considering they announce a new offering just about every day. Today is no different as the company has come forth to announce their latest projector, the HD67N.

This projector is capable of display a 3D image at an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 and features 1800 ANSI lumens, and a 4,000:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, this 3D projector also features RGB, S-Video, composite, HDMI ports in addition to several audio ports.

Unfortunately, there is no solid word on a price point for the HD67N 3D projector but Optoma has told us that it will be released in Europe soon and the rest of the world not long after. They even took the time to throw in the tidbit that the HD67N’s 3D technology will cater to the SKY broadcasting network so all of your 3D viewing should be in top notch quality.

Anyone looking to make the switch to a 3D projector at some point in the near future?

Press release after the break.

London, November 2010 – Optoma has released the HD67N which updates the impressive and highly successful HD67 by including full support forNVIDIA® 3D Vision™ – a technology that is a combination of Graphics Processor Units (GPU), specialized 3D glasses and software that deliver a 3D experience on your PC or workstation.

The HD67N is also full compatible with the Optoma 3D-XL, 3D projector adapter capable of producing a fully immersive 3D tv and gaming experience. Compatible with 3D broadcast signals such as Sky 3D in the UK; 3D Blu-ray players and 3D games from the Sony® PS3 the 3D-XL simply connects between a 3D source and a 3D Ready DLP™ projector.

The HD67N is an HD ready projector that brings the amazing cinematic performance of the latest digital projector technology to the home. Building on the success of the bestselling HD65 and HD67 the new HD67N now includes 3D capabilities.

Optoma has produced a projector that combines a stunningly bright 1800 ANSI Lumens of Home Cinema experience with perfectly balanced colour rendition and incredibly light and shade detail only possible with an exceptional 400:1 ANSI Contrast ratio/4000:1 Peak Contrast Ratio.

Keen to deliver a reliable, measurable indicator of real-world contrast performance between different projector technologies, Optoma is committed to systematically publishing its ANSI Contrast performance in addition to the more traditional peak contrast ratio. Now, a major home cinema projector manufacturer is prepared to publish an internationally recognised and independently reproducible ANSI contrast performance figure.

Since most movies are shot at 24 frames per second (FPS), the HD67N preserves the purity of the original image by accepting HD sources at 24 FPS preserving the image as the director intended.

Featuring a full range of analogue and digital inputs, including HDMI connectivity to the latest digital entertainment devices such as BluRay ™ players and gaming consoles is simple and straightforward. Not only is the HD67N perfect for big screen cinema experiences but is also bright enough to be used in ambient light conditions for fully immersive gaming.

Indeed, so confident is Optoma of its picture quality that its unique guarantee warrants image and colour quality will remain as new for at least five years.
