You can forget it if you are waiting for cheap 3D TV sets to be released by China. Chinese-made 3D TVs are indeed coming out with the expected technology and screen sizes but pricing may apparently hold you back. The first Chinese companies to release their 3D TV offering are Skyworth, Changhon, and Hisense whose prices play in the vicinity of $3,000 for a 55″ model.

So the best thing you can do now is either save up for a branded 3D TV or wait for a price drop, which is bound to occur in the very distant future considering demand. A dark day for aspiring 3D TV owners indeed.
