Mistubishi unveils the 5″ WVGA color TFT LCD module

I believe that we focused on Mitsubishi before, and how they are not going to do LCD screens anymore, and planning to focus on really big screens. Apparently, that big screen rule does not apply to the Mitsubishi HC9000D 3D Home Theater Projector, nor does it apply to this 5″ WVGA color TFT LCD module.

Unless that is a mis-print, and it is supposed to be 5′, like the mix-up in This Is Spinal Tap. This TFT LCD module, or AA050MG01, and has a super wide viewing angle (170 degrees) and lightweight.

Other specs include a luminance of 800 cd/m2 and has a 900:1 contrast ratio. It also is completely mercury-free, which means that it will make environmentalists happy.

This five-inch WVGA color TFT LCD module doesn’t appear to be made for the typical consumer, but rather the industry crowd. it will go on sale from April 28th onwards, but, for some odd reason, I don’t seem to have a price as yet.
