Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is one of the most popular home video game consoles on the market today. However, while the console is currently used mostly for gaming, Microsoft may have something up their sleeve that would give Apple TV and Google TV a run for their money.
According to rumors, Microsoft is pondering the idea of offering a television service through the Xbox 360. Apparantly, this service could be one of a few things including a traditional television broadcast with monthly fees or an a la carte approach with channels like ESPN and HBO.
Unfortunately, these urmors also say that this plan will take at least another 12 months before it is ready to be deployed. If true, that means Google TV and Apple TV will have 12 months to get a leg up on the competition.
Would you purchase your television broadcast service through the Xbox 360? If not, why?
