The Mac mini has long been regarded as a premiere home theater computer for its small form factor, decent specs and somewhat affordable price. Now, Apple has come forth to announce an upgrade to the hardware.

The new Mac mini features both an HDMI port and a Mini DisplayPort so you’re be able to hook it up to your brand new flatscreen and thanks to the new 2.4GHz or 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, you’ll be able to stream all the HD content you want. Other upgrades include a new sleek, aluminum casing, 2GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 320M GPU with 256MB of SDRAM.

The price tag? Well, considering it’s Apple you’re still going to have to pay a premium at $699. But at least it looks cool, right?
