JVC has announced its Super Hi-Vision D-ILA projector, the first of its kind. This projector features a contrast ratio of 5500:1 and the ability to deliver a video with a 35 megapixel resolution due to the D-ILA display system.
This projector can apparently save up to 50% power and 60% in lamp costs by using what JVC refers to as “Adaptive pixel correlation technology”. And it can supposedly display 10,000 lumens of brightness from the single three-thousand Watt lamp. No information on pricing or availability is available yet.
