Just when you thought that the age of the boom box was over, JVC has some, in miniature form.

The RD-R1 and RD-R2 are two compact boomboxes that weigh at 450 grams, and come with dual omni-directional mics and a microSD slot with an included 2GB GB.

The difference between the two is the RD-R2 has a metronome feature and 6.3mm mono jack for an electric guitar. Each of them have a five-second countdown and clapper-style start functionality.

So far, there is no word on the RD-R1 price, but the RD-R2 (which sounds to me like Star Wars R2-D2) is $460.
