iSymphony LC42if56 Television Review-Little Known Brand For A Reason

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a television from iSymphony before, so it’s kind a red-letter day for me. How will this newcomer fare against our scrutiny? Let’s have a look and see how this new model–the iSymphony LC42if56–boils down.

The iSymphony LC42if56 is a forty two inch 1080p LCD television that offers a 10000 : 1 dynamic contrast ratio, two eight watt speakers, two HDMI inputs, two S-Video inputs, a component input, a VGA input, and a digital audio output.

Admittedly, there is not a lot going on here. The picture is fair, though it doesn’t really look like 1080p–it may be 1080p, but this looks like the lower end of the scale–and the audio is pretty lackluster too, what with only eight watt speakers and no augmentation. Call it entry level (you likely won’t be wrong to do so), but it’s still going to do its job fairly well. You might well think that a television with so little marketing support–when’s the last time you saw an ad for an iSymphony?–might make up for it by going for the word of mouth and getting it by way of putting out a really awesome television, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that the folks out at Amazon want $406.65 for one of these, which is an oddly specific price, but certainly a good value for a 42 inch television.

It’s nothing great, but the iSymphony LC42if56 won’t be a bad television by any stretch of the imagination. If you’re looking for something simple, something inexpensive, and something halfway decent, then this is a good place to start looking.
