iPad 2 accessory will have HDMI out possibility

In case you have been asleep for the past few hours, Steve Jobs just announced the iPad 2.

He also announced several other things, such “some other new features. HDMI out. We have a cable that does just that”. It does mirrored video output which provides output up to 1080p, and “works with all apps”.

According to Steve, the cord works so there is no set up for configuration required. You just plug in your iPad to it and then the other end to your HDMI-compatible display.

You should be able to get this HDMI video out cable sometime when the iPad 2 is released, which is March 11th.
