Insignia NS H2002U Home Theater System Review-Surprisingly Robust

Sometimes I get incredibly surprised by the stuff I end up reviewing.  Sometimes things just come together like that to royally freak me out.  Thus, I’m incredibly surprised to be talking about today’s review target, the Insignia NS H2002U home theater system.

The Insignia NS H2002U is a 5.1 channel surround sound system with thirty watt satellite speakers and a fifty watt subwoofer.  It feautres a built-in Dolby Digital surround sound decoder, 1080p upconversion of your movies, support for DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA formats, a built-in AM / FM radio tuner, one digital coaxial audio output, one stereo audio output, one S-video output, one component video output and one HDMI output.

The Insignia NS H2002U packs a surprising amount of power into such a simple set of speakers.  In fact, I’m kind of amazed you can get this kind of setup for the retail price of a hundred and twenty five bucks.  This is a lot more power than I expected from a clearly low-end system, and if you’re looking for a total package for your home theater, you could do much worse than this.
