Hulu says HTML5 isnt ready for prime time

If you’ve been paying attention to the web development you’ve probably heard of HTML5 and Steve Jobs saying that it will replace Flash. Well, Hulu exec Eugene Wei recenlty stepped forward to let consumers know why his company has not made the shift towards HTML5 and why he thinks it’s going to be a bit longer before the Internet as a whole does.

First of all, he says that HTML5 cannot do all of the things Flash can do; sure, it can stream videos but Hulu’s customers rely on secured content, advertisement reporting and a whole slew of other things that isn’t visible to a typical Hulu user.

Luckily, one of the main devices that doesn’t support Flash, the iPad, is getting a native Hulu app so you’ll still be able to watch your content on the go.
