EU considering limiting personal media players to 85 decibels

You know how that famous line in This is Spinal Tap when one of the band members is trying to explain to Rob Reiner that they have a volume that goes to 11? Well, if EU passes its certain resolution, that little extra volume will be the first thing to go. That, and perhaps numbers 8, 9, and 10.

You see, legislation is going to be drafted, and then considered about the volume levels of personal media players. Your iPod or MP3 Player may top out at 120 decibels, but if this new resolution passes, they will max at 85 db. So what does this mean? Will our children not go deaf? Will they complain about having their rights as music consumers being violated. The answer is both A and B.
