EMI Hong Kong has released 3 albums by British singer Sarah Brightman in Super Audio CD Surround Sound. The release features her albums entitled Eden, La Luna and Time to Say Goodbye.

Brightman is a well known singer in both the U.S. and Europe. Her albums feature a wide variety of material including Broadway show tunes, pop songs, opera and classical compositions and an occasional jazz selection as well.

The three Sarah Brightman albums are all Hybrid SACD Surround Sound discs which feature SACD Surround Sound, SACD Stereo and CD Stereo versions of the music on each album. They are playable on SACD, CD and SACD compatible DVD Video players.

Hong Kong Sees Continued SACD Activity
The Brightman SACDs continues EMI’s program of releasing their key artists on high resolution audio formats in markets in Europe, Asia and the United States. In terms of the Hong Kong market, it is somewhat unique in that it is the first market where all 5 of the major record labels (Universal, Sony, BMG, Warner and EMI) have all released albums in the Super Audio CD format.

However, most of the SACD releases in Hong Kong by the major labels have been by artists from the local market rather than major artists outside of the market. The exceptions to this rule, prior to the Brightman SACDs, have been several major album reissues from BMG/RCA (including Harry Belafonte at Carnegie Hall, The Sound of Music, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Kenny G and Air Supply). We have also seen a series of albums from the Fantasy Records catalog reissued in Hong Kong by Naxos as Super Audio CDs.
