DisplayLink Announces Support for Intel MACs

DisplayLink has announced that it has developed a new way of enabling video projection via the USB 2.0 interface rather than the usual video ports.

When the driver is installed, it automatically recognizes that a DisplayLink-compatible projector is attached and configures itself. Up to four projectors can be used simultaneously on the same machine, according to InFocus.

Mac support for some DisplayLink-equipped products first emerged in 2008, when DisplayLink offered beta and then release drivers that enabled devices equipped with the technology to operate with the Mac. This marks InFocus’ release of Mac drivers for its projector products,

The growing demand for alternative projector interface has been evident. It caters to the business and private demands of people who make use of these projectors for various purposes in aiding their respective goals.
