Concord Records has announced plans to release 30 titles on Super Audio CD (SACD) during 2003. This is one of several major projects the label is undertaking to celebrate their 30th birthday.

The complete list of the 30 SACD releases is still being developed. However, we have been told that the premiere release of the Concord Records SACD series will be an upcoming 2-disc Multichannel SACD set from Chick Corea. This release will feature a live 16 track DSD recording made at the Blue Note with several jazz stars including John Patitucci, Avishai Cohen and Dave Weckl.

Prior to the announcement, Concord Records material has been appearing in 2 channel, high resolution audio through licensing deals with Groove Note (SACD) and Hi Res Music (DVD-A). In fact, Concord Records indicated that they are currently working with Groove Note on two such discs at the moment – The Dolphin by Stan Getz and With Love by Rosemary Clooney – which are scheduled for release as Hybrid Layer Stereo SACDs in March.
