The Celestion F38 is a floorstanding speaker at mini-monitor prices. At a retail price of $500 per pair, it compares favorably with speakers costing 2-3 times as much.

Designed in Engand yet made in China, the savings is passed on to the consumer. I was impressed with the build quality, as was in my experience, products made in China are of low quality. The cabinets are solid and carefully tuned to eliminate distortion, and it sounds like this is true.

Celestion F38 review

The sound is tight bass, sparkling treble, and a midrange that just sings. It’s a very natural sound, but with punch. Clean and flat. But can rock the house if need be. This speaker sounds good with all genres of music, and with both cd and vinyl.

Imaging extends beyond the speakers, however the height of the image is not exactly 6 feet high. We’re not talking about the state-of-art here, but a real-world speaker that people can afford and appreciate. It is available in real wood veneer including black ash, birch, and dark apple (I like the dark apple best) It is very reasonable to drive and it’ll make you tap your feet.

Rather than go through the trouble of buying stands and minimontors with no real bass, here you have a floorstander that is musical, powerful, and looks like a million bucks.

No, it’s not the best, but it’s far from the worst at a price that you can’t resist. Is it a bargain? Probably so, but in my opinion, it’s priced just right. You can easily spend $3000 for the same driver compliment and get only slightly better sound.

This is a Celestion that is worthy of the prestigious name of this long running company. I would say it is superior to the latest offerings from JBL.
