Buffalo is poised to debut their latest external DVD writer in the land of the rising sun. This 24x drive is known as the DVSM-24U2. It features a USB 2.0 connection interface and write speeds of up to 24x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL & DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 32x for CD-RW.

Furthermore, it includes a bundle of software utilities from CyberLink such as PowerDVD 9, PowerDirector 8 HE, PowerProducer 5, Power2Go 6, InstantBurn 5 and PowerBackup 2. Thus, the Buffalo DVSM-24U2 will launch in Japan during mid-October for $137.
